Save Articles

Repetitive searching can hinder the speed of your research project. Luckily, there are resources  available that allow you to organize research articles and citations. 

Save Articles in Library Literature Search

It can become increasingly cumbersome to execute the same searches over-and-over again. Luckily, Libary Literature Search enables users to save searches, save articles, and create projects. Review the information below to start saving your own searches!

1. In order to save content, you will need to create a personal account in Library Literature Search. This will allow you to access your personal dashboard. 


2: Create a new account by clicking "Create an account" in Library Literature Search.


3: Fill in all of the required fields.

In order to create Research Projects in Library Literature Search, you must log into your personal EBSCO account. 

You can add unique names to your projects, including descriptions and due dates.

1. You can add search, articles, and books into Research Projects. 


2. View you projects in your dashboard.

In order to save your searches in Library Literature Search, you must log into your personal EBSCO account. 

Saving your search is a straightforward method to organize reduce the amount of repetitive searches. Save an entire search and retrieve it at a later date.


1. Log into your dashboard and click "Searches".


2. Find you saved searches in "Saved Items".


Helpful Hint: Add saved searches into projects to organize research projects.

Add articles to your research project or saved items to retrieve items more quickly.


1. To add an individual article to a folder, click the "save" next to the article.


2. Retrieve saved articles from your dashboard. 

Zotero is a freely available resource that allows researchers to organize citations and collaborate on research projects.


1. Create a free Zotero account at https://www.zotero.org/


2. Download Zotero for Windows, Mac, or Linux at https://www.zotero.org/download/ and login to your account.

OR

2a. Download Zotero connector for your browser. 

  • Optional: Download free plugins to enhance Zotero.

3. In Library Literature Search, click the "three horizontal dots"  next to the article you wish to cite and then click "Cite".


4. Export in the RIS format.

  • If you downloaded the browser extension (Zotero connector), Zotero will prompt you to add the citation without downloading the RIS file. 
    • If you choose 'Always allow for this site' as your preference, then citations will be automatically downloaded into your library. However, Zotero will leave an "about blank" page open in your browser. Simply close it. 

5. Open the RIS file from your downloads folder. The citation will be added into Zotero. 


6. (Optional) Copy the link for the article and paste it into the "URL" in Zotero under "Info". 

  • Do not copy and paste URL from the browser. It will not work after a few hours.
