Mental Health Guide

About

Welcome to the RVU Mental Health and Wellness libguide. This libguide has been created to support RVU students, faculty and staff. This guide presents basic information and strategies for developing good habits that promote mental health and well-being. We also include information on mental or emotional crisis situations; some "first aid" that we can do to help people who seem to be struggling or needing help, and contact info for hotlines and local organizations that provide help and support. See the tabs at left for each section of information on each of those topics.

Let our easy guide help you navigate resources that help you be your best self.

A gentle reminder- There are so many mental health resources and websites online and not all of them provide accurate and trustworthy information. We encourage you to use Trust it or Trash It or this Evaluating Health Information Worksheet (PDF) as a guide to determine if you should trust the information you find in your online searching.

RVU Mental Health and Wellness understands that medical school is both exciting and challenging and that it can feel stressful and overwhelming. We are here for you! Our services include individual brief, solution focused counseling, groups, workshops, activities and other support for the challenges of medical school and your personal life. In addition, we help connect students with other helpful resources within the university or your local community. We also partner with WellConnect who can assist RVU students and their household members with counseling as well as other services.

We hear you, we see you, and we support you.
