What is a DOI?

A Digital Object Identifier (DOI) is a persistent and unique string of letters and numbers that identifies a digital object, such as a research article. DOIs are different than URLs because a DOI identifies the content, not the location. Enhance your scholarship by ensuring that your work is easier to find and access.

Who can Request a DOI?

The Frank Ritchel Ames Memorial Library mints new DOIs for depositors upon research. Requesters must have an active ORCID ID to request a DOI. Book a resource session with our research team to learn more about ORCID IDs
