Key Features

Article Galaxy Scholar (AGS) is integrated into Library Literature Search (on our website), PubMed (through the Library), and EndNotClick. Students and faculty do not need to create an account with AGS to use the service since the platform uses Microsoft to authenticate.

Students and faculty will only be taken to AGS when Full Text Finder determines that the article they are seeking is not available in the Library's online collection. Currently, AGS does not allow students to purchase chapters from textbooks.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the threshold for purchasing articles?

Answer: Students and faculty can purchase up to five articles automatically through AGS before hitting their threshold. After the fifth purchase, all future purchases for the academic year must be manually reviewed by a member of the Library during business hours with a turnaround time of 24 – 48 hours.

Do purchase counts reset?

Answer: Purchase counts reset at the beginning of the academic year (i.e. students and faculty will be given a fresh slate for automatic purchases).

Is there a value threshold for purchasing articles?

Answer: Articles over 75 dollars must be manually reviewed by a member of the Library.

What happens if an article is purchased by mistake?
Answer: Email us at library@rvu.edu so we can cancel the purchase. A canceled article will not count towards your purchase count.

What happens if an open access or free article is purchased?

Answer: Email us at library@rvu.edu so we can cancel the purchase. A canceled article will not count towards your purchase count. We recommend checking the publisher's website before purchasing an article.

What should I do if my RVU email address is not recognized by AGS?
Answer: Email TyRee Jenks so we can add/update your RVU email address in AGS.

Are preceptors and residents allowed to request articles through AGS?
Answer: AGS only recognizes RVU email addresses. Since preceptors and residents are not assigned RVU email addresses, they must manually submit their requests.
