Thinking ahead to this Scopus session, here is additional information helpful to have in advance:

About Scopus

With technology changing at an accelerating rate, you need the right support to ensure that you continue to help your users and institution thrive in a competitive and global research environment. As the largest, curated abstract and citation database of peer-reviewed literature, Scopus gives you the insights and tools to deliver best-in-class research experiences and fuel your institution’s research strategy and performance.

Who should attend

Gain greater insights into Scopus, and use this knowledge to expand training and consulting options with library users. The primary audience for this training session is:

  • Librarians responsible for training students and researchers in using Scopus, including reference, instruction, scholarly communication, and subject librarians
  • Of course, other library colleagues are welcome to join!

While content will be finalized in the near future, it will definitely explore elements of these fundamentals:

  • Coverage: What is included & how it is selected
  • Search strategies:  Mindful searching and leveraging the power of Scopus filters
  • Common use cases: Practical ways to use Scopus in real life!
  • Author profiles: Interpreting author-level data
  • Helpful resources

Certainly feel free to reach out before the session if any questions come up, and I look forward to sharing Scopus knowledge with the group
