Zotero is a free, easy-to-use tool to help you collect, organize, annotate, cite, and share research.
Zotero automatically detects our University Proxy (Electronic Resources Login Portal) and enables “proxy redirection.” This is a useful approach when online resources are part of the Library’s subscription holdings. However, it can detect and add hostnames for websites and databases that are not part of our holdings. When this happens, Zotero will redirect users through the Proxy for websites that are not part of our holdings. Resulting in an error message from the Proxy (see image below).
Follow the steps below to remove hostnames:
Step 1: Right-click the Zotero browser extension and select “Options.”
Step 2: Click “Proxies.”
Step 3: Click “https://login.proxy.rvu.edu/login?qurl=%u” under “Configured Proxies.”
Step 4: Remove unnecessary hostnames under “Hostnames.” For example, remove PubMed or .gov websites.
Follow the steps below to remove hostnames:
Step 1: Right-click the Zotero browser extension and select “Options.”
