To discover if the RVU Library has direct access to an e-book, go to the EDS Publication Finder and search by title.
Where to Look
To find a book owned by the RVU library, search the library's online catalog by subject, title, author, or other book identifier. Five modes of searching are available: e-search, simple, browse, power, and filter. The default mode is the e-search, which will search for any type of information about the book.
Our eBook Collections
RVU's ebooks are published in collections, and many collections are limited to books from one publisher: AccessMedicine (McGraw-Hill), Clinical Key (Elsevier and its imprints Saunders, Mosby, and ChurchillLivingstone), Ovid Books (Lippincott Williams & Wilkins), Oxford Handbooks (Oxford University Press), and PsychOnline (American Psychological Association). Collections drawing upon a variety of publishers include eBrary and Gale. To search all RVU ebook holdings by a word in the title, search the EDS Publication Finder.
To search for books held at other libraries, search WorldCat, which will search networked local, national, and international libraries and identify the closest location of the book, or the catalog of the CU Health Sciences Library, which is open to the general public and a short drive from our campus. One can also search the extensive holdings of the National Library of Medicine. To secure a book from another library, contact a member of the RVUHSL staff.
Many books and chapters can be read or previewed on the Internet at Google Books (use search box below).
